Empty Boosterism

Temporarily coshed by the list of achievements reeled off by Gordon Brown, I turned this morning to one of the best political commentators for enlightenment.

I think the key phrase used by Daniel Finkelstein is 'empty boosterism'. Many of the policies reeled off by Brown have been announced and not implemented years ago, while I'll be fascinated to learn the cost of corralling sixteen year old mothers in supervised housing. Clearly on Newsnight a very rattled Ed Miliband didn't have a clue either.
