The recent controversy surrounding the funding of schools with links to Hizb ut-Tahrir (HT) has certainly shaken the group right up to its British leadership.  Now the Spittoon blog are reporting that they are in contact with a mole within the group, who is passing on vital information including details on an uppcoming Executive Committee election.

The first sign which indicated that HT were in panic mode was when they held a press conference (6.05 mins into video) on Friday 27 November to answer questions about their links to the Islamic Shakhsiyah Foundation and the two schools it operates in London. The date may seem fairly innocuous, but it was in fact the first day of Eid (Islamic religious holiday) - a day on which unless there is an emergency absolutely no members of HT are allowed to do any work.  Not only did leading members Abdul Wahid and Taji Mustafa work during Eid, but they were visibly on the back foot, fumbling and at a loss for words.  It is worth noting that although a video of part of the press conference is available on the HT Britain website, they have supplied a clip of the favourable coverage given to it by the pro-HT Islam Channel.  They have ignored the above linked clip from Newsnight in which journalist Richard Watson asked questions that left them stumbling around like Hugh Grant explaining to an LA cop why he was found in a car with Divine Brown. 

The news from Spittoon of a leak within the party is a welcome addition to their woes.  The blog reports:

Following last Saturday's secret meeting for the members of Hizb ut Tahrir, Britain, the Spittoon is delighted to announce that it has learned of its forthcoming Wilayah elections for the UK Executive Committee of the party.

This means the Wilayah has now been disbanded and that Nasim Ghani, as the mutamad, is solely in charge of the party until the elections are held.

Our mole will keep us posted on the nominees and who wins the elections. We'll be sure to publish the results here for you, and the Security Service, just as soon as we have them.

Let's hope that we are witnessing the beginning of the end for HT Britain.
