Yes, bring on the Pakistani, Moroccan, and Turkish flags – to name some of the nations most heavily represented in Oslo's immigrant ranks. Why not? After all, many immigrant families in Oslo already send money to these lands, fetch spouses from them, build second homes in them. Many ship their kids to madrassas there so they can ‘learn Islamic values’ (and unlearn Norwegian ones). And Norway's government and media give every bit of it a big thumbs-up. So why not foreign flags, too? And so what if the flags most likely to pop up in an "inclusive" parade are those of countries where mobs torched Norwegian flags during the cartoon crisis – in some cases with the tacit approval of those countries' governments?

For all the rage over the Immigrant Forum's proposal, the main fact went virtually unspoken – namely, that this was all just one more encounter with soft jihad. Simply by making its proposal, the Immigrant Forum had moved the bar, shifted the terms of debate, nudged Norway a step closer to the day when the whole May 17 display will be ruled insensitive, racist, fascistic, destructive of multicultural values.

in England English people of Pakistani descent who would never fly a British or English flag are happy to fly pakistani flags to celebrate independence from Britain every year--usually with local indigeneous dignitaries participating.

Militant Muslim leaders have exploited it, but they didn't create it: for that, blame multiculturalism for so effectively training Westerners to trash not only their own freedoms but the totems thereof. Since 9/11 the poster girl for this ailment has been Nation columnist Katha Pollitt, who after that atrocity famously forbade her daughter to fly Old Glory from the window of their flat near the World Trade Center. "The flag," she preached as the ruins were still smouldering, "stands for jingoism and vengeance and war". van finance

A point much missed, is that muslims are immigrating out of their home countries not the other way around. auto insurance quotes Could it be to benefit from the freedoms and rights hard won by Western countries and out of respect for their host countries, should they then not try to pervert them.

So sad. Once a society accepts its opponents' argument as having merit, then that society is always on the defensive, trying to salvage some vestige of its national honor. So sad that the do-gooders are so enraptured of their own innate goodness, they cannot see the evils within their midst.

Well they should remove it, for their respect for the flag. The school seems very aware on its policy.

Right after I sent the last comment (from 'Red white & blue') I saw this outrageous story from the Times called “UK Police Dogs To Wear Booties For Muslims” (http://sweetness-light.com/archive/uk-police-dogs-to-wear-booties-for-mu...) If any kindred souls in jolly old England are reading this comment, PLEASE go to the link and be sure to read the comments. You'll be glad you did.

Greetings from the U.S. of A. I just linked to "Standpoint" from the < pajamasmedia.com > site and I'm glad to find y'all. Yes, the mainstream media and academia has monopolized so much of what is seen and taught and heard. But I truly believe the pendulum is beginning to swing the other way. Thank God for the internet. Fly your flags, my friends! And stay positive.

Yes that's very true. However there are the odd few Asians who have properly integrated themselves into our society, I know an Indian family who I'm rather fond of that have a St Georges Cross in their window all year round, they even hang up Christmas lights!!
