Friends of Standpoint — Donations matched £ for £ for August


Dear Standpoint readers,

We are currently hard at work on Standpoint's September issue — going to the printers this week — and hope our readers have been enjoying our current July/August double issue, the bestselling for over a year.

Nevertheless it remains a sad fact that a magazine such as Standpoint cannot survive on sales and advertising alone. In addition to this we have to rely on the generosity of our readers and other supporters — it is only through their munificence that our magazine keeps going. Standpoint is published by the Social Affairs Unit — a UK registered charity — and donations are eligible for Gift Aid.  Existing supporters are generous enough to make donations ranging from £50 — £25,000.

One of our supporters has offered to match all donations pound for pound — up to a total of  £20,000 — we receive between now and the end of August — so your support would be especially welcome at the moment.

Standpoint has considerably cut its costs this year with its new look — and we have also substantially broadened out our support base. Nevertheless we do remain reliant on donors such as yourself and do still need to raise around £70,000 this year.
