The political columnist I most admire- Trevor Kavanagh the former political editor of the Sun - says everything that needs to be said here about McPoison, Draper and the rest of the sordid crew that hang around Downing Street like flies around dung heaps. The most damning point is surely that 'Dolly' Draper, who has made a second career out of being a basket case, was receptive to McPoison's efforts to convert Mrs Osborne's boredom at parties which she attends as a spouse into "evidence" of depression. This is so wicked it beggars belief. Kavanagh's puncturing of the myth that Brown is this retiring scholarly type who loves economics books is also worth pondering. As is the failure of at least one major national newspaper to go with this story- on which theme I refer readers to Guido Fawkes's own website.
